What is your refund policy?

The ReadyNAS Vault refund policy is as follows:

ReadyNAS Vault offers a free 30 day trial. If you cancel after your 30 day promotional period  has ended, no refund will be issued and you will be charged for the rest of that period.  For example, if you are billed on the 15th of every month and you cancel on September 17th, you'll still have to pay for the entire current month (September 15 - October 15 in this case). You won't be charged again after that. The same policy is true regardless of the duration of your offer: monthly, yearly, or any other variation. Accounts that begin as an upgrade from a free account do not qualify for the free 15-day trial.

You are responsible for whatever charges have been incurred. In order to treat everyone equally, no exceptions will be made.

A few common questions related to our refund policy are listed below.

Q: Why can't I receive a refund?

A: One of the great benefits of being an ReadyNAS Vault user is that we allow you to trial all of the features and functionalities of the subscription level you choose for 30 days.

Each user performs their online backup and storage with a slightly different combination of devices, operating systems, browsers, and network connection factors, and you can imagine that that can create a myriad of different potential support issues. We encourage you to utilize the free trial period to learn how to use our service and resolve any technical problems that might be inhibiting your backup experience. We also encourage you to contact our Support Team at support@vault.readynas.com during your trial period to help you solve any technical issues, and help you determine if our service is right for you. Accordingly, you should cancel within your promotional period if you decide not continue on as a ReadyNAS Vault subscriber.

Q: I am a yearly subscriber and canceled after [insert number] months. Why can't I receive a pro-rated refund for the remaining months of the year?

A: A yearly subscriber, just as a monthly subscriber, has the chance to evaluate our product within the trial period, and should use the two weeks to decide whether they would like to continue on as a paid subscriber.

Further, at the time of purchase, a monthly subscriber enters into a monthly billing contract. Accordingly, if he cancels in the middle his monthly billing cycle, he can rightfully end the billing relationship and can expect to receive no further charges after his monthly billing period ends.

A yearly subscriber, however, enjoys the benefit of paying a discounted rate to pre-pay for his account for one year, and thus enters into a yearly billing contract to lock in this price. Accordingly, if a yearly subscriber cancels in the middle of his billing cycle, he can also expect to receive no charges only after his yearly billing cycle has completed.
